Walls in
Measure the room the way you already do.
Stand in the doorway. Wall A is on your left; go clockwise and type each wall’s length, measured left to right. Corners go in as degrees — 90 for square, 135 for a 45° wedge wall — and doors, cased openings and windows drop onto the wall with their sizes and sill heights. Switches, outlets, vents and soffits go on too, so the drawing knows where they are.

The warnings
It checks the drawing before the shop does.
Here is the same kitchen as a first pass: the second base on wall A typed 3" too wide, and the pantry slid over an outlet. The app caught both. These are its words, not ours:
- Wall A: the base run ends at 146 1/2" on a 144" wall — 2 1/2" too long.
- Wall B: #15 covers the outlet at 100" — move the outlet or cut the cabinet back for it.
It also flags a leftover under 4" (the place for a filler), overlaps, a cabinet in a window or a door, one above the ceiling or into the crown’s space, and two runs colliding in a corner — measured on the real outlines, so an angled corner tells you how far out the second run has to start.

Shop settings
Your construction, not ours.
The fronts and the cut list are figured from your shop’s numbers: box and back thickness, the toe kick, reveals, face-frame stiles and rails, drawer-box clearance for the slides, counter thickness, the upper line. Change them once, make them the shop standard, and every new design starts from them.
The half inch of wiggle room at each wall end is a shop standard from the first shop that used this — Michael Blair’s rule at Blair Custom Interiors: always set 1/2 inch wiggle room on each wall as shop standard.
Each design keeps its own copy, and the build set prints it under the cut list, so the shop knows what it was drawn to.
Built to these settings
- Box 3/4", back 1/2" captured between the sides, fronts 3/4".
- Toe kick 4" high, set back 3" — a separate base; the boxes sit on it.
- Frameless: fronts 1/16" in from the box edge, 1/8" between fronts.
- Face frame: stiles 1 1/2", rails 1 1/2", 3/4" thick, 1/2" overlay, 1/4" past each box side.
- Wiggle room: 1/2" left at each wall end of a run, for out-of-square walls.
- Drawer boxes: 1" narrower than the opening for the slides, at least 1" shorter than the front; depth = slide length.

What shops ask about cabinet design software before they try one.
What is the best cabinet design software for a small shop?
The one that turns a tape measure’s numbers into drawings a client signs and a cut list the shop builds from, without a desktop CAD seat. Cabinet Maker Pro does that in a web browser: type the walls and the cabinets once, and the plan, elevations, 3D and cut list all come from those sizes.
Is there free cabinet design software?

Do I have to install anything?
No. Cabinet Maker Pro runs in a web browser, so there is nothing to download or update. A desktop or a tablet is the better screen for drawing; the printed sets come out as letter or tabloid sheets you print or save as a PDF.
Can the whole shop use one subscription?
Yes. One subscription is one shop account: the owner invites the others by email as an admin or a designer, and everyone works from the same client list and designs. Each account sees only its own clients and drawings.
Does it keep my clients and jobs together?
Yes. Each client gets a record with their name, phone, email and address and an automatic job number, and every design you draw for them sits under their name. The home screen lists every design in the account, the most recently changed first.
